"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

This semester I was asked to submit sample digital paintings for a proposal for a large-scale mural the art department at my school wanted to do for another university. The digital paintings I did took photographs from old yearbooks, basketball players, faculty, etc. and showed how they could be transformed into more colorful, abstract images. Apparently, this university's board was impressed by one of my paintings in particular, and our school got the commission! I won't reveal more details until they have it set in stone, but I might be designing digital paintings for a major university's welcome center next semester!
